AVANTech, Inc. is a US owned small business that was created in 1999 in Columbia, South Carolina. Since its development, AVANTech has designed, manufactured, and initiated operations on over one hundred projects in the United States as well as all over the world including: China, Japan, Australia, UAE, Puerto Rico, and Mexico. In November 2014, AVANTech expanded their operations by merging with Diversified Technologies Services, which became AVANTech’s Nuclear Services division in Knoxville, Tennessee. Together they provide a wide range of products and services to the DOD, DOE, nuclear, and commercial industries.

AVANTech is a global leader in the safe recycling, processing, and disposal of nuclear material. We provide an integrated service to many of the commercial US nuclear plants and can respond to emergency efforts such as what was needed following the Fukushima Daiichi incident.

AVANTech has implemented a quality program that has met the standards for the nuclear industry for the past ten years. Our Quality Assurance Program has been audited by Government and Nuclear clients from all over the world including the US DOE, CH2M Hill, Bechtel, Fluor, URS, and numerous other architect engineers.
AVANTech holds an ASME Code Stamp to manufacture pressure vessels. All pipe welding is performed in accordance with ASME Code, and all structural welding is performed in accordance with the American Welding Society (AWS) code. AVANTech also has Certified Weld Inspectors on staff for inspection and validation. AVANTech’s panel shop is certified to manufacture and stamp all electrical panels to the Underwriters Laboratories (UL) standard.

While the certificate is specific to our Knoxville location, the same controls and processes are being implemented at both locations. AVANTech’s technologies include demineralization, polymer solidification, filtration and ultrafiltration, reverse osmosis, dewatering, and drying. Our modular units can be furnished on a stand-alone basis, or can be combined to provide the most efficient means of processing while minimizing radiological effects and the generation of waste material. Systems have demonstrated superior performance when it comes to process radioactive stream or pool cleanup programs, sludge collection, silica removal, boric acid recovery, and/or zero environmental release activities.
