On Tuesday, September 11, 2012, the Oak Ridge Business Safety Partnership (ORBSP), in conjunction with URS/CH2M – Oak Ridge (UCOR), will host the Oak Ridge Safety Fest. Safety Fest will offer more than 30 training courses, free of charge. Courses range from Hazard Recognition and Welding Safety to the OSHA General Industry and Construction courses. Other planned courses include 8-hour Trenching Competent Person, CPR/First Aid Refresher, Confined Space, Forklift Operator, Overhead Crane Operations, and Emergency Response Planning. In addition to the more than 30 training courses, Safety Fest will feature an opening session at the New Hope Center on the morning of September 11 that will highlight our national awareness of the anniversary of 9/11/2001. Speakers from Tennessee OSHA and DOE Headquarters will make presentations, in addition to speakers from Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Y-12, and UCOR.
Safety vendors are invited to exhibit during the community reception and the first full day of classes. The cost of an exhibit is $200 and space is available on a first come, first served basis. Vendor set up begins at noon, following the opening session.
